I love to paint flowers, fruit, vegetables, and am inspired by my garden, local farms, and nearby parks and fields. I prefer painting from direct observation to quickly capture a transient moment while immersing myself in what I believe is a meditation on humble subjects, sometimes joyful and at other times melancholy.
I choose to paint in oils because I love the lushness, versatility and unending ability to experiment with colors and textures. One of the things I love about art-making is the opportunity to continue to learn: I’ve taken courses in alla prima, still life, plein air, and look forward to more experimentation and study with contemporary artists to expand my knowledge and experience.
Thank you for visiting. I hope you enjoy a moment of stillness with me.
